Board of Directors Election Candidates

A resident of Sun City for almost 14 years, Mr. Morton moved from Texas in January 2005 with his wife.  His background includes a degree in Business Management and 21 years of service in the United States Navy (Vietnam Purple Heart 1968), followed by 20 years with Lockheed Martin retiring 2004.  Mr. Morton worked in 2007 to form a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Operation American Patriot, to assist Service veterans in solving problems and helping over 6000 to obtain the benefits that they deserved.  He joined the SCHOA Compliance Committee where he has volunteered since 2017.  Mr. Morton believes that he possesses “an open mind” for dealing with whatever comes before the Board.

Ms. Schwartz has lived in Sun City for 11 years, having moved with her husband to AZ from Dundee, Illinois. Pam received a nursing diploma and was licensed. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Master’s in Business Administration from Aurora University in Illinois. She worked as a charge nurse and in private duty and after getting her business degrees, worked as a sales and logistics coordinator for a major home electronics firm. Pam has served on the SCHOA board previously (2014 – 2018 and 2020 to present) and is a past president of the board. She has served in many volunteer positions including being asked by legislators to assist in dealing with West Valley transit issues. She is also a member of the Sun Cities Museum and the SCHOA Foundation, and has served on two other HOA boards for a total of 21 years.  Her current position with SCHOA is on the Roads and Safety Committee which she chairs. Pam loves Sun City and SCHOA, having learned to appreciate them through her late father, a snowbird and resident before her.  She feels she is honoring him by living in, and working, with the Sun City Community. She feels strongly about upholding the values that make SCHOA such an effective advocate for Sun City.

Edward, his wife Stella, and their two children moved to Arizona from upstate New York in 1982. He worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation for eighteen years and then moved on to the City of Peoria. In 2005 he relocated to Sun City where he continued working until 2018.

At ADOT, he became a Traffic Signal Maintenance Supervisor, installer and programmer. At the City of Peoria, he also worked in the Traffic Signal Department responsible for planning and implementing their maintenance program for signal citywide.

He has been involved in many volunteer and leadership positions including, but not limited to, member of Southwest Living History Association, events/entertainment at RCSC, current Secretary for the Properties Committee for RCSC and a current member of SCHOA’s Roads and Safety Committee.

Jerry & his wife, Connie, moved to Arizona in 1994 and to Sun City 15 years ago.  He has a B.S. from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN, and holds a computer science certificate from Harvard Computing School in Chicago, IL.  Jerry is a veteran of the Viet Nam era and served 28 months outside of the U.S.

Since moving to Sun City, Jerry has been a member of his condo association board, a ten year member of the Sun City Condominium Owners Association, SCHOA for two years, the Sun City Foundation for 7 years, the Friends of the Sun City Libraries for 6 years and the RCSC Board for three years.

Jerry’s main purpose of serving on SCHOA and the other organizations is to promote a collaboration and a better understanding and involvement within all Sun City groups.

Gail, and her husband Marris, moved to Sun City from Phoenix in 2003. Gail holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from ASU and worked in the Sun City area for 26 years as a Social Worker. She also has a background as a real estate broker.

Gail previously served as President of the Sun City Historical Society (aka Del Webb Sun Cities Museum) and has served as a volunteer on several boards and committees since retiring in 2006.

Since 2019, Gail has served on the SCHOA Board of Directors, and is currently the Board Secretary. Gail supports SCHOA’s mission of “fair and consistent application of the CC&R’s” to keep Sun City the best it can be.

Robert relocated to Arizona from Chicago, Illinois twenty-one years ago with his wife, Diane and have been living in Arizona for past 10 years. They have one son who is currently in the military.

Robert worked as a System Analyst for Loyola University of Chicago, the largest Heart Transplant Hospital in the US. He worked in various parts of law enforcement over the years, including working as a detention officer and special investigator for Sheriff Joe.

He worked as a mediator for Maricopa County, the Attorney General’s Office, the Town of Scottsdale and NBC-TV as well as private mediation.

He is currently a Trustee for the Sun City Elks and Director of the Sun City Foundation. Before Covid, he volunteered at the VA in Phoenix.

Robert is running for SCHOA’s board because he wants to assist his community in any way he can.
