The walls facing major street throughout Sun City are actually the property of individual homeowners ad Condo Homeowner Associations, but were never addressed as to who should be responsible for their upkeep. There is approximately 17 miles of painted walls that need attention every 10 to 15 years. The last time they had been painted was the year 2000.
The Non-Profit 501(c)3 Corporation of SCRAP (which we later changed the to SCHOA Foundation) decided, since they were deteriorating, something had to be done and took on the project of painting the walls with the help of donations and volunteers. The first wall received a new coat of paint in May of 2016 and the entire project was completed in less than 3 years and under projected budget.
The Foundation is receiving donations so that we can maintain any walls that will need further attention and at the same time knowing the walls will need to be repainted by the year 2030. The entire community benefits in seeing that the walls remain looking bright and fresh looking. One more reason for the present residents to look with pride with their community and for perspective buyers to look in favor of making Sun City their new home.
