Maricopa County is Developing Framework 2040

This is Maricopa County’s long-range Comprehensive plan for how it will grow and serve its community members in the future. The Comprehensive Plan addresses topics such as land use, circulation, water resources, energy, open space, growth, environment, and cost of development. To learn more click here.

Sun City is NOT a city. We are an unincorporated community within Maricopa County. Therefore, we don’t have a city government, and we are somewhat governed under the umbrella of Maricopa County. The county is responsible for roads, medians, codes, zoning issues and law enforcement.

Sometimes within our community, residents think that SCHOA or the RCSC may be responsible for things that really are the responsibility of the County. This is where FRAMEWORK 2040 comes in. This is an opportunity to learn what Maricopa County oversees, and share your input in future related decisions!
