Originally from Florida, Carmel moved to Sun City from Durham, N.C. in 2006. She has a B.S. in Sports Medicine and a M.S. in Exercise Science and recently retired from Duke Clinical Research Institute. She has held many roles as an exercise physiologist and as a clinical data specialist including assisting in the development of her departments’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Over the years she has served in various leadership roles including Secretary, Treasurer, and President for a variety of organizations. Carmel serves on the RCSC Bylaws Working Group, is a member of the RCSC Bowling Committee and the RCSC Election Committee. As a nearly 20-year resident, she says her goal is to serve the Sun City Community and help SCHOA achieve its goals to maintain and protect the community.
