Join SCHOA To Defeat Multiple Rate Increase Proposed by APS
The Sun City Home Owners Association has been an advocate for our community since 1963 and continues to work to help keep utility rates low and protect our community’s safety and quality of life. We face another APS rate increase that we are opposing and asking our community to join in and help send the message that Sun City opposes this rate increase.
The proposal from APS (Arizona Corporation Commission Docket No. E-01345A-25-0105)
- A 14.58 % rate increase to electric bills, which averages out to $240 a year in additional cost.
- An increase in the basic service charge from $10.86 – $13.74 up to $15 per month, adding an additional $15-$50 in annual cost.
- With both increases you can expect your APS bill to increase between $255 to $290 annually.
- Approval of a formula rate which would allow for automatic annual increases to customer bills based on the formula to be created and approved in the case.

Dear Commissioners,
I am a residential customer of APS and I am writing to strongly urge the Commission to reject the proposed 14.58% rate increase proposed by APS – Docket No. E-01345A-25-0105. As a customer, I am already struggling with the rising cost of living, including increases in housing and healthcare. A nearly 15%% increase on my utility bill is an excessive financial burden that I simply cannot afford.
Sun City is a community made up of senior citizen residents, many of which live on fixed incomes, including those who rely primarily or solely on Social Security benefits. A rise in utility rates would impose significant financial hardship on these residents.
As we know utility service is a necessity, not a luxury.
I urge the Commission to prioritize the financial well-being of ratepayers and reject this proposed rate hike.
