Board of Directors

The SCHOA Board of Directors meets monthly, generally on the fourth Tuesday of each month.  Meetings are opened to the public and you are invited to attend.  Please contact the SCHOA office at 623-974-4718 to verify the date and time.

JIM HUNTER - President

Jim is dedicated to the community. He is a former member of the Sun City Posse and was a SCHOA Compliance officer for three years. He is committed to the mission of SCHOA protecting property values through consistent and fair enforcement of the CC&Rs and supporting programs and enhancing safety and the quality of life in Sun City. Jim and his wife, Val, have lived in Sun City for six years and he is a proud father, grandfather and Viet Nam veteran. Jim’s goals include ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of the CC&Rs, SCHOA’s policies are conducive to making SCHOA an excellent workplace and SCHOA’s vision, both short and long-term, are fiscally responsible and consistent with the mission.

ERIC HOAGLAND - Vice President

Eric Hoagland moved to Sun City from Michigan in July 2019. Eric graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Pharmacy. He maintained his pharmacy license and preceptor license for over 40 years as well as being vice president for the drug store corporation. Eric has served on his church committee and served on the board of directors of the HOA for a subdivision in Michigan. He currently he drives for Meals on Wheels and serves on the Sun City Home Owners Association’s Compliance Committee.

GAIL WARMATH - Secretary

Ms. Warmath is originally from North Carolina and has lived in Arizona since 1971, and been a resident in Sun City since 2003.  She has a background as a real estate broker, holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work from ASU and worked as a Social Worker in the Sun City area for 20 years.   Since retiring in 2006 she has served as a volunteer on various boards and committees and Gail is serving as the current President of the Sun Cities Historical Society (dba the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum).  “I respect SCHOA and would very much appreciate the opportunity to assist in advancing SCHOA’s mission to keep Sun City the best it can be.”

JOSEPH JANOS - Treasurer

Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois; he is a CPA and has over 35 years senior management experience with small to medium-size firms in and around Chicago. He was a Board member of the local United Way for 13 years serving as president twice. He has been a resident of Sun City since 2003. Joe was on the Sun City Sheriff’s Posse for 11 years including 6 years on the Board serving as treasurer, operations officer, as well as instructor and duty officer. He also volunteered at Boswell Hospital for four years.

RITA TILLERY

Ms. Tillery relocated to Sun City from Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. She graduated from Georgia State University and later worked in accounting and ran a medical billing business. Currently she provides administrative support and does medical billing for five Phoenix doctors. Rita served on the board as treasurer for her son’s non-profit business. She worked for the HOA group in a subdivision in Virginia and currently serves on the board of her current condo complex. She has been on this board for 18 years. Previously, Rita has been on the Sun City Homeowners’ Association Board of Directors where she acted as the Treasurer.  She served on the Collections and Bids Committee and currently serves on Roads and Safety as well as the Elections Committee. Rita loves Sun City and wants to give back a portion of what this community has given her.

AL MORTON

Mr. Morton and his wife relocated to Sun City from Texas nearly 16 years ago.  He received a degree in Business Management and served in the US Navy for 21 years followed by 20 years at Lockheed Martin where he retired in 2004. He also worked at the non-profit Operation American Patriot assisting veterans with their needs and benefits for 6 years. Al has served on the Sun City Home Owner’s Association Compliance Committee for 4 years. He believes his experience assists him with dealing with  any issues that arise on the Board.

MARY RIEMER

Ms. Riemer is a former resident of Minnesota and has lived in Sun City for 16 ½ years.  Mary's college education prepared her for her work in management for most of her adult life, including as an Assistant Vice President and as the manager of a local bank.  She retired from banking at the end of 2017 and not wanting to stay idle, her strong customer service background gave her the skills necessary to be a volunteer in financial counseling for Eve’s Place while also serving on SCHOA’s Membership Committee. Mary is also a member of the Sun City Women’s Chorus, the Sun City Bowling Association and was inducted into the Sun City Bowling Hall of Fame for Meritorious Merit.

JIM POWELL

Jim Powell-croppedJim and his wife, Julie, have been Sun City residents since 2005 after having been winter visitors since 1998.  Jim retired as a law enforcement officer and was a staff member of the California Council on Criminal Justice. He has served on the SCHOA Board  for seven years, is past chair and current chair of the SCHOA Roads and Safety Committee.  Jim enjoys bowling and is currently a member of the RCSC Bowling Committee and past member of the RCSC Properties Committee.  He has also been involved with the Rotary, Moose Club and Chamber of Commerce. Jim is committed to protecting Sun City property values and ensuring safety of residents through continued communication with local agencies and enforcement of the CC&Rs.

PAMELA SCHWARTZ

Pamela has been a long time Sun City homeowner and a year-round resident after  moving from Dundee, Illinois.  She has a Master’s Degree in Business Management having worked for 24 years as a sales coordinator for USJVC Corp. Pam was a volunteer at the Challenger Space Center prior to becoming Vice President of the SCHOA Board of Director as well as a Girl Scout Troop organizer and leader for years. She was also  Public Relations Director for Tempo One HOA Board among other volunteer positions.  Pam is founder and was a member of Richardson Homeowners Benevolent Association from 1988 – 2011, serving as director at large for 16 years.

Pam served as SCHOA's Vice President in 2015, as well as SCHOA's President in 2016 and 2017.
